WHAT DO I DO AFTER A FLOOD???? Minimize

Floods are real disasters.  We are dealing with a terrible one here in Nashville, TN today.  Down town is flooded.  All the coin laundries are closed.  Homes and businesses are destroyed.  It is truly tragic.  So, what do you do?

THE FIRST THING YOU DO IS DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.  Get your camera out and take pictures of everything.  Let your insurance agent know, even if you do not have flood insurance.  Then, contact FEMA or your local emergency outlet.  Send them your pictures.  You will probably be able to get aid.

NEXT, GET OUT YOUR TOOLS.  Be careful about electricity...shut that down immediately.  Then, you have to begin tearing out everything.  Get the wet dry-wall, flooring, insulation, etc. out of there.  Let air get to the studs in the building.  You need to do this ASAP!!!  Mold can be a real problem if you don't.  Fix any electrical or plumbing problems.

THEN, GET OUT THE BLEACH.  Spray everything with at least a 25% bleach solution.  That will kill all mold spores, etc.  Let all this dry out.

CHECK YOUR EQUIPMENT.  Clean and dry each peice of equipment very thoroughly.  Make sure each peice is bone dry before you turn it on.  Start turning on equipment peice by peice.  After it is dry, you will be amazed at the number of peices that will be undamaged.  Just don't turn them on before they are clean and dry.

After you have completed these steps, then you can rebuild.  Please call us if you need help.  Call 1-866-441-1848.  We offer free phone consultation, and we have a relationship with this good distributor for new equipment.  They are offering new Huebsch equipment at amazing prices for anyone needing to replace equipment due to flood damage.  $300 off of stack 30# dryers and $Laundryinvestment.com is partially subsidizing this effort.
